Our Decorative Arts Tours at "The Towers" are special and unique, and garner rave reviews. Given by the owners themselves, tours last an hour to an hour-and-a-half, and visit many and varied collections including collections of period furniture by John Henry Belter, Alexander Roux, and J.J. Meeks, among many others.
Among the objects shown and explained are antique laces, beaded purses, crowns and tiaras, Moser glass, Vaseline glass, inkwells, gentlemen's fob watches, mother-of-pearl gaming counters, and other unusual objects used in everyday Victorian life.
Also, a wonderful collection of props and original costumes that were actually worn and used from Andrew Lloyd Webber's 2004 movie Phantom of the Opera is on display.
Tours take place Saturdays at 1 pm and 3 pm. Tickets cost $20 plus processing fees.
