------------

Anna Dean is a classically trained violinist, now fiddler. Originally from Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Anna began playing violin at the age of 10, growing up through the public-school orchestra programs in her hometown. In graduate school, she became increasingly interested in folk fiddle, launching an insatiable desire to understand and perform Irish, bluegrass, old-time, Americana, blues, jazz, and other equally challenging styles of fiddle playing.

She is the Co-Founder of Ocobo Music Festival, an international, multi-genre world music festival that takes place in Ibagué, Colombia. With a graduate degree from Florida State University in Arts Administration, she works both as a musician and arts administrator, currently serving as the Director of Development for Opera Mississippi.
