About This Event
Two grand pianos. Two masters. One unforgettable evening.
Lawrence Sieberth is one of New Orleans' most celebrated pianists, composers, and musical directors — a versatile, visionary artist whose career spans jazz clubs, concert halls, Broadway productions, and Hollywood films. A 30-year fixture at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, he has collaborated with Allen Toussaint, Irma Thomas, Charles Neville, and Jason Marsalis, and served as musical director for HBO's Emmy Award-winning film Bessie. His playing draws from jazz, classical, and world music traditions, creating something that feels both timeless and entirely his own.
Mike Esneault is a two-time Emmy Award-winning composer, Grammy Award-winning arranger, and one of Louisiana's most accomplished pianist-composers. He has performed and recorded alongside Wynton Marsalis, Terence Blanchard, Nicholas Payton, and Brian Blade, with appearances at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and Lincoln Center. In 2023 he received the Alvin Batiste Hall of Distinction Award for his lifetime contribution to jazz in Louisiana.
Together, Sieberth and Esneault will perform original pieces alongside standards from the American Songbook and contemporary jazz repertoire — trading ideas, pushing each other, and exploring what happens when two extraordinary musical minds share the same stage.
