The City of New Roads is the parish seat of Pointe Coupée Parish and is a community steeped in rich history and customs. As one of the oldest settlements in the lower Mississippi Valley and Louisiana, its heritage and culture is deeply rooted. The city’s landmark, False River, was originally the main channel of the Mississippi River. Today, False River is an oxbow lake, which is a horseshoe-shaped bend, that the Mississippi left behind when it changed course between 1713 and 1722. The curved lake is a beautiful backdrop for many homes (primary and secondary) and is a recreational paradise for water sports and fishing. Boo & Brew will be hosted by the City of New Roads Main Street Program, an organization created to work with the City of New Roads and the State of Louisiana’s economic development initiatives for historic preservation.  For more information and for partnership details, please contact Paula Lambert by phone at (225)718-2528 or by email at [email protected]. Thank you for your kind consideration of this request, and we hope to see you on October 30!
