About This Event

The official Books Along The Teche Literary Festival returns for an eighth year, featuring various opportunities for exploring the realms of literary history, culture, and cuisine—all in the beautiful historic district of New Iberia. Among events included in this year's festival is the Dave's Haunts & Jaunts Murder Mystery Guided Tour.

Come and enjoy the wonderful tour with many places made famous through the likes of Dave Robicheaux and Clete Purcel. This time with a new spin to it. Imagine feeling like you were part of the novel as it is acted out in front of you. This tour will make you feel like you are part of the story. At 11:45, check in at the door of Dave's favorite lunch spot, Victor's Cafeteria, to collect your wristband for your included meal. Following will be a luxury bus that will take you to visit the Teche Motel, historical New Iberia sites, and more of Dave Robicheaux and Clete Purcel's favorite spots. The bus tour will also stop at the famous Cane River Pecan Company. There you can shop for great gifts/souvenirs and enjoy a piece of their wonderful, award-winning pecan pie. The bus tour will end at the Iberia Parish Libraries main campus and you will be able to attend the reception for the L'Acadian Art Guild. Online ticket purchases highly recommended as bus seats are limited, and there is no guarantee of same-day ticket availability. Sponsored by Iberia Parish Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Terms & Conditions* No refunds will be issued within seven days of event date.* In the event of inclement weather, we will make every effort to ensure that guests are comfortably accommodated, but this may include moving the event to another location. In the event that a Books Along the Teche Literary Festival event coincides with weather severe enough to trigger a National Weather Service watch or warning within a twenty-five-mile radius of the supper site, the event may be rescheduled or canceled. If weather forces an event postponement, every effort will be made to reschedule within a reasonable time frame. Existing tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled date. If circumstances require a cancellation, a full refund will be issued.
