Nestled on almost five lush acres, "The Towers" is today considered the grandest and most elegant antebellum home in Mississippi. Surrounded by huge oak trees that were planted before the Civil War, this wonderful Italianate Mansion accommodates exceptional antique furniture, superb draperies and fabric wall coverings, beautiful antique laces on every window and extraordinary collections rarely seen anywhere.
Our Decorative Arts Tours at "The Towers" are special and unique, which garner rave reviews. Given by the owners themselves, tours are an hour to an hour and a half long. The collections are many and varied including period furniture by John Henry Belter, Alexander Roux, and J.J. Meeks along with so many others.
Antique laces, beaded purses, crowns and tiaras, Moser glass, Vaseline glass, inkwells, gentlemen watch fobs, mother of pearl gaming counters, and unusual objects used in everyday Victorian life are among the things shown.
Also, a wonderful collection of props and original costumes that were actually worn and used from Andrew Lloyd Webber's 2004 movie Phantom of the Opera is on display.
