Mardi Gras might look a little different this year but here in New Roads (aka Louisiana's "Little Carnival Capital," the spirit lives on! Floats in the Prettiest City on the Water will be a drive-through stationary viewing of flamboyantly-themed floats, lined up at the spectacular Historic Cottonseed Mill building in New Roads, beginning Saturday, February 6 and continuing through Tuesday, February 16.
Between 5 pm–10 pm weekdays and 1 pm–10 pm on weekends, the Cottonseed Mill will be open for drive-by viewing, at an admission cost of $10 per vehicle.
Rules & Regulations
1: NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE GATE—a safety measure due to COVID-19. For admission, tickets must be purchased in advance, and displayed on a phone or printed and placed inside the driver's side car window.
2: Each ticket is valid for entry only for the date purchased.
3: Visiting cars should enter and exit on Community Street. NO WALKING, STOPPING OR CONGREGATING INSIDE THE PARK AREA WILL BE ALLOWED.
4: Max 8 passengers per vehicle. Vehicle height cannot exceed 11 feet. No commercial vehicles. No buses, bikes (including motorized bikes), and no pedestrians are allowed on the property or inside The Mill. All participants must wear a a seatbelt.
5: ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS OR RAINCHECKS.

Will people be on the floats? Any throws or giveaways to patrons? NO
Are there going to be any marching bands in between the floats or music? No bands will be present. Music will be played throughout The Mill
Can cars be decorated to attend? YES
Will floats and decorated cars be judged? YES. Cars will be judged, with prizes awarded for first, second, and third place winners.
How many days will the floats be at The Mill? 10 days: Saturday, February 6 to Tuesday, February 16, Mardi Gras Day
Will there be refunds if it rains? There will be NO REFUNDS.
No less than 10% of proceeds will support programs to make New Roads a safer community.
