CELEBRATING THE SESQUINCENTENNIAL OF REX AND THE GRAND OPENING OF REX: THE 150TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE SCHOOL OF DESIGN, AN EXHIBITION OF THE LOUISIANA STATE MUSEUM AT THE PRESBYTÈRE ON JACKSON SQUARE
Please join us for a magical royal evening of merriment and celebration as we toast 150 years of the oldest, continuous Carnival parading organization in New Orleans. Rex created the template for Mardi Gras as we know it today and has become a major philanthropic supporter of the city's schools through its Pro Bono Publico Foundation.
Be the first to see the exhibition that tells the story of 150 years of Carnival leadership. Rex: The 150th Anniversary of the School of Design will showcase rare Rex regalia, costumes, jewelry, photographs and documents. Many items have not been publicly seen in over 100 years, and include new finds from as far away as Europe.
Capacity inside the Presbytère is limited to 500, so do not delay in reserving your place at this once in a life time celebration and exhibition unveiling.
