Oxbow Paddle is a 9-mile paddle on False River beginning at either The Landing or Sandbar with one stop at Bonnie Glen Cabin for mid-way refreshments! The paddle begins with arrival at the starting point between 9:00-9:30am to drop off equipment, necessary items for the day, and packet pickup. Participants must drive their vehicles to the finish and catch a bus ride back to the beginning of the event. The bus departs at 9:45am sharp. Don't miss it!

During the event, support boats will be on the water to monitor paddlers and pickup any stragglers. But don't be disappointed if you're picked up or towed! You'll find yourself being entertained by music, friends, food, and possibly a cold beverage!

New this year! Oxbow Paddle has been in existence since 2013 that began with two adventurous ladies wanting to paddle the length of False River and ended up rallying up 40 friends during the inaugural event. Over the years, as many as 120 paddlers have taken on the challenge in a single year, but the route typically began at Sandbar and ended at The Landing. This year, the route will be decided the Wednesday before the event in an attempt to have a tailwind for the majority of the day!

Cash and credit cards are accepted at all venues. Bloody Mary's and mimosas will be available for purchase at the start and beverages at all locations will also be sold.

Event Day Schedule:

9:00am - Packet pickup and equipment drop off

9:30am - Depart for bus ride if driving

9:45am - Bus departure to starting point

10:00am - Paddle begins

What to bring:

• Paddle board, kayak, or canoe
• Paddling equipment
• Hydration and fuel for the day (water, electrolytes, bars, etc.)
• Rope to tie up on pier if desired
• Waterproof equipment for phones
• Music source if desired
• Life jackets (required)

*Please note this is mostly a list of suggestions from experience, but life jackets are required for each person on board by WLF.

Registration is required for EACH participant. For example, if you are paddling a tandem kayak, that is 2 registration fees. You will receive a bracelet with your participant number for identification.
