The Natchez Festival of Music presents Salon on the Silver Screen, a European-style evening of music from the golden era of film, held on Friday May 17 at The Towers Mansion.
In Europe during the 19th century, the “Salon” was a popular type of private, musical, and social event that took place in grand homes of significant patrons of music and musicians. It usually featured a pianist performing Romantic music, but could include music from the stage as well.
Our Salon Music from the Silver Screen will be an evening of music from great films of the golden era of film. You will hear iconic songs like “Singin’ in the Rain,” “I got Rhythm,” and “Try to Remember,” as well as music from films like The Wizard of Oz, Hello Dolly, Annie Get Your Gun, and many more. There is no better city in the world for a “Salon” than Natchez, and there is no more beautiful setting for such an event than “The Towers.”
Must be 21 to attend. Tickets include entertainment, hors d'oeuvres, and adult beverages. Show begins at 7 pm.
