Jazz Samba holiday performance
Ben Redwine, former US Naval Academy Band, has relocated to Louisiana, but is visiting Washington, DC for this special concert, featuring Tim Ford playing Richard White’s recently refurbished Steinway piano! Ben is currently teaching at Southern University in Baton Rouge and free-lancing in Louisiana, performing frequently with the New Orleans Symphony Orchestra (LPO), the Baton Rouge Symphony, and with his jazz groups. Ben has performed extensively internationally, most recently returning from a Brazilian tour where he performed 9 concerts in 7 major Brazilian cities. Additionally, Ben’s doctoral dissertation was on the topics of the samba and the bossa nova, which will be presented in this concert.
Joining Ben will be Tim Ford, Washington, DC’s premier jazz pianist, and an aficionado of bossa nova, and the best jazz bass player on the east coast, John Previti.
