Created by Louisiana Public Broadcasting and Country Roads magazine, The Art of Food pairs a well-known Louisiana chef with three renowned Louisiana visual artists. The goal: to create a menu interpreting artwork into a series of unique dishes. Taking place in Baton Rouge on Sunday, August 19, the Art of Food promises to be an immersive, delicious dining experience!

Created for LPB’s Art Rocks! program, The Art of Food will air statewide during July and August on the LPB network. Now in its sixth season, LPB’s Art Rocks is a visual and performing arts program focused on Louisiana culture, hosted by Country Roads magazine publisher James Fox-Smith.

Three renowned Louisiana artists—Demond Matsuo, Mia Kaplan, and Billy Solitario—provide the creative inspiration for this year’s event, which will happen at Baton Rouge’s Ann Connelly Fine Art Gallery. On Sunday, August 19, James Beard Award-nominated chef Michael Gulotta of New Orleans restaurants MoPho and Maypop will present a sumptuous, four-course menu inspired by the participating artists’ work. Chef and artists will be present to discuss their work and partnership.

4:30 pm–8 pm on Sunday, August 19 at Ann Connelly Fine Art, 1670 Lobdell Avenue, Baton Rouge. $150 per person. Proceeds support the Foundation for Excellence in Louisiana Public Broadcasting.
