World famous guitar soloist & Hardwood native returns to St. Francisville to play a concert benefiting the Friends of the Old Benevolent Society
Li'l Jimmy Reed stands as a living legend of the blues, showcasing the essence of the genre with expressive guitar, raw vocals, and soulful harmonica. Born in Hardwood, LA, Reed grew up immersed in the blues tradition, and after filling in for Jimmy Reed one night, Lil' Jimmy's path to success was set. The Li'l Jimmy Reed Band, also featuring Bob Hall and Hilary Blythe, has graced stages worldwide, sharing their authentic sound that resonates far beyond Louisiana. Li'l Jimmy has headlined festivals across Europe and performed alongside icons including B. B. King and Bobby "Blue" Bland, offering audiences a genuine taste of timeless blues.
On Friday, March 15, L'il Jimmy Reed will be back in his hometown to play a concert at Hemingbough. Proceeds will support ongoing efforts to restore the Old Benevolent Society building to serve as a community and cultural center.
