Preserve Louisiana invites the community to a virtual closing reception and community conversation to wrap up the most recent exhibition, Passages: An Exhibition of Louisiana Memory by artist and author J.K. Lawson.
The conversation and poetry reading will take place inside the artist's Baton Rouge studio and will include the virtual presence of Lawson's close collaborators and colleagues. Fairleigh Jackson, Angélique Bergeron with the West Baton Rouge Museum, and Jason Andreasen with the Baton Rouge Gallery will lead a community conversation on the effects of the pandemic on cultural entities. Also featured at the virtual reception is music courtesy of DJ Preservation and an interactive slide show of the artist's work by Brian Boudreaux.
Prints of the commemorative Huey collage are available for purchase. Email [email protected] to place an order. Preserve Louisiana will also hold drawings for signed posters.
This is a virtual event. Registrants will receive an access link two hours before the event.
