About This Event
Join the Natchez Literary and Cinema Celebration for the 1887 “Death and Wake of Annie Stewart.” While visiting Sunnyside (Circa 1852) to marry her betrothed, Annie tragically died. Owner, Colleen Wilkins, will treat guests to one of the oldest southern traditions of sitting with the newly deceased while enjoying restorative cocktails and a scrumptious reception.
Buses will depart from the Natchez Convention Center, 211 Main Street at 6:00 and 6:15 pm.

Themed, “Stories of American Freedom" this year's Natchez Literary & Cinema Celebration will weave a diverse tapestry of the stories that make us who we are as Americans today. These are stories of hope and resilience, stories of perseverance and bravery, stories of ordinary people who took a stand and fought hard for the freedoms that we enjoy today. Join us as we spotlight authors from across the South and beyond who capture the complexity of American freedom—its struggles, triumphs, contradictions, and hopes for the future.
