The Festival produces and features operas, operettas, Broadway musicals, jazz, recitals, and special concerts. Festival home base is the Margaret Martin Performing Arts Center. Events are also held at local Natchez venues including the Natchez Apollo Theater, grand mansions and stately churches around town, and various other historical sites. The Festival’s education enrichment programs reach more than 10,000 K-6 grade children in the Miss-Lou each year. In addition, it also reaches out to civic organizations, nursing homes, and other interested groups. A Mississippi non-profit corporation (501(c)3), The Natchez Festival of Music was originally founded in 1990 as the Natchez Opera Festival. It was re-branded in 2003 to include a wider range of world-class music and live theater from internationally and nationally recognized performers.
