Debbie Elliott will share stories from her 20 years covering the South's breaking news and quirky characters for NPR. From major news events like Hurricane Katrina and the reopening of civil rights-era murder cases, to a coon dog cemetery in North Alabama and Fats Domino's funeral second line,
Eric DeWeese will be honored as a Founder. Robyn Merrick will receive the inaugural Community Catalyst award.
